The Junior Lifesaver of the Year Award is a way for Clubs and our Branch to recognise their U14 members (who hold their SRC) achievements in Surf Life Saving; the contributions they have made to all levels of Surf Life Saving as well as within the community.
The Junior Lifesaver of the Year Program aims to focus on recognising and rewarding the young members who have been selected as their Club's male or female Junior Lifesaver of the Year. The program for this age group focuses on self-leadership, socialisation, teamwork, surf lifesaving and self-awareness.
All U14 members who believe they could be the next Junior Lifesaver of the Year should apply through their club. Each club then puts forward to Hunter SLS one Male and one Female nominee.
The Newcastle Permanent Junior Lifesaver of the Year is announced each year at our Branch Age Championships. All nominee's are asked to make themselves available to attend (2021-22 annoucement wll be Sunday 6th February 2022 at Swansea Belmont SLSC).
Hunter SLS winners will then progress to the SLSNSW development camp and interview process to determine the SLS NSW Male and Female Junior Lifesavers of the Year.
